Lobby New Zealand is voicing its concerns with Members of Parliament using the Parliamentary Blackberry Work network for political party matters, particularly private political party fundraisers.
On 17 September 2021, it appeared that Labour Party MP Ingrid Leary had used the Parliamentary network to organise a Labour Party fundraiser with microbiologist Siouxsie Wiles.
Lobby New Zealand is now calling on the MP for Taieri to clarify what actions she has previously taken in regard to all Labour Party fundraising events, through the Parliamentary Blackberry Work network.
It is of utmost importance that the New Zealand taxpayer is alerted to any private advertising that may have taken place on a network expected to be strictly for Parliamentary matters.
